Using Your Abilities in Society and at Work

Each one of us was created by God and he has given us a particular ability to be able to contribute to society. This may be through ones career or just helping in the community in some way. During our work we should employ God-given talents in a way that glorifies Him, since it all came from him in the first place. Work is not a curse but God given responsibility, “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”

God enjoys working and creating and he also wants us to enjoy work and be creative.

“God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 2:15 and Genesis 1:27-28 

You may be thinking that your work is not very interesting and other peoples job is much more beneficial to society. Just imagine what would happen if you didn’t do your job. Your work may not be interesting but it still contributes to the wellbeing of society overall, so thank God for your Job and your contribution to society.
