Serving others

Martin Luther King Jr, said this about serving. “Everybody can be great… because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”

You don’t have to have special gift or ability to serve, just the desire to serve and bless others. Jesus also gave instructions to his disciples regarding how they should serve others. “Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.  Not so with you Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,  and whoever wants to be first must be your slave — just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:25-28 This is what Jesus said about himself, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”  Mark 10:45

We didn’t have to hold some special position in life before we can serve others. We can serve others right where you live, or within the community. We can even join various charities or other organisations  and voluntaries our time to assist. There are many different ways we can server others all we need is a will heart to do so.
