Everyone has the moral sense of right and wrong or good and evil, that does not mean that everyone’s Consciousness is the same, because there are many factors that define our sense of right and wrong. These are some of the factors that may define our Consciousness….. Parents, Schooling, Higher Education, Employment, skin Colour, Language or even where and when we were born and countless other factors. That’s why for one person something may be expectable whilst to another completely un-expectable
Our moral conscience changes over time as we grow and learn new things. The bible talks about peoples whose consciousness changes for the worse so much that they can’t tell the difference between right and wrong. “To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.” And “The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth.” Titus 1:15-16 and 1 Timothy 4:1-3
It’s possible to retrain our conscience in the things of God, “ In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3: 12-16
