Before we can enter heaven, heaven needs to enter into us. Heaven is God’s home and he is perfect and nothing imperfect can ever enter heaven. Since we can’t change heaven, it means we have to change. Yes we will be changed physically and spiritually. St. John tells us that we will be like Jesus. “Dear friends, now we are children of God and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him.” 1 John 3:2
Here are a few facts about Heaven
- We will no longer sin
- We will not be subject to the same laws of physics
- We will never be sick again
- We will live in new Jerusalem
- We will be with Christ for ever
As I was saying, we will be changed, St Paul tells us, “Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-54
