Reputation good or bad is built on our actions. Lis Smith said, ““Begin somewhere. You cannot build a reputation on what you intend to do”. It’s true that others can’t read your mind as to what you intend to do, it’s only after you done something that people and society can decide if they will treat you with good or bad respect. We also spend lifetime trying to build a good Reputation but in one moment of madness lose it all. Heres how Will Rogers puts it, “It takes a lifetime to build a good reputation, but you can lose it in a minute.”
Jesus had a good Reputation but he put it all aside for our sake, St. Paul puts it like this, “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” Philippians 2:5-7
Jesus himself said, “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28
Jesus also said, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33
We shouldn’t spend all our time building good Reputation on earth at the expense of Heaven.
