the world but also the ICC Twenty20 Cricket World Cup kicks off today. Yes! Many top sporting talents will be on display strutting their stuff for their nation. As you relentlessly eye-ball the clock on the wall ticking ever so close to the first match of the tournament let Rajesh help pass your time with this week’s TVA music top ten charts update.
Bhangra - Jaz Dhami is back! This time he has joined forces with
India’s finest – Yo Yo Honey Singh. A brand new entry this week – ‘High Heels’, a fascinating dance track which is causing some kind of stir within the musical minds of Jaz Dhami’s fanatical followers…. a thumping beat accompanied with a clever whistle chyme has catapulted Jaz Dhami back to the heights of success. Things are a little bit more sweeter for Jaz Dhami right now because of this duet with Yo Yo Honey Singh. Make sure your whistles are out and whistle along with this song….it will blow you away for sure!
Bollywood - What comes to mind when I say Barfi! Surely you would naturally assume I
am referring to the traditional Indian sweet called Barfi, which is white in colour and very very milky…well you are wrong, I am referring to the latest Bollywood film called Barfi. The film stars Ranbhir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra which is all about two individuals who both have a few things in common, (no, not their love for Indian sweets) but both are mute and deaf. At No.7 this week, the title song from the film, ‘Ala Barfi’, a song performed by Mohit Chauhan, who at this rate will become Bollywood’s leading vocalist… it’s a case of More-hits Chauhan. Now officially we have a different sort of Barfi, one being the Indian sweet, another being an ice-cube and the last being….well, let’s all hope so… a mitay Box-Office-Hit!!!
Fusion - Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, a Qawal king who musically broke many cultural and political barriers with his superb music, although the great Nusrat Khan Ji is no longer with us but yet still his music can be heard in all parts of the world. A newcomer in the music industry Aslam Ali has just released his debut song – ‘Sah Teh Changa’ with music from Gin and Rees. Aslam Ali has a unique singing ability which already is being compared with the late Nusrat Ji, Aslam’s voice sounds incredibly like the Qawal king….however obviously a long long way to go, but still worthy of a listen. Check out this Qawal based track at No.1 this week.
Gospel - Have you ever been somewhere so wonderful that you would love to go back
there again and again. I remember visiting my loved ones in Belgium, this country is known for its confectionery, relaxing beaches and great landsacpes. I just loved every minute of my stay and was at times contemplating to return home. Have you ever been somewhere in your life where it’s much better, much warmer and where you felt this is where I belong…Once you have tasted the Lord, there is no coming back. ‘Na Lautenge’ by Amit K at No.10 this week, remember, you can request all these songs by either visiting the song & prayer request category or just complete the form below.
