Ash Wednesday

The First Day of Lent:In the Roman Catholic Church, Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent, the season of preparation for the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday. Ash Wednesday always falls 46 days before Easter. On Ash Wednesday all Roman Catholics are encouraged to attend Mass on this day in order to mark the beginning of the Lenten season.

The Distribution of Ashes: During Mass, the ashes which give Ash Wednesday its name are distributed. The ashes are made by burning the blessed palms that were distributed the previous year on Palm Sunday; many churches ask their parishioners to return any palms that they took home so that they can be burned. Healing of Mind and Spirit

There are different kinds of healing mentioned in the Bible; therefore healing is part of God’s plan for all people. We can experience the healing power of God, in our lives. I believe that God is ready to heal us, but often we hold back and don’t go to him for it. Today I just want to highlight few kinds of healing for you.

Physical Healing We don’t have to have a life-threatening disease to ask God to heal us from our sickness. When we ask God to heal us, sometimes he heals us immediately; but other times it may be a while. In some cases, God will give you the patience to wait for the healing which may come through medicine or surgery. Continue reading
