Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day
The long build up to Easter is called Lent. It’s the last day before Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday, 40 days before Easter. Another name for Shrove Tuesday is Pancake Day. ‘Shrove’ means being forgiven for wrong-doings.
