Why do we HATE?

Most of us would like to put an end to all kinds’ of hatred.  We should all learn to get over our hatred and stop being mad at everyone all the time, because life is short. Enjoy your life while you can because you only get one of them. Why waste time being angry, upset, or hostile to other people.

Just because we don’t like the other person’s gesture, behaviour, habit or anything that counters our policies doesn’t give us the right to hate them.  Some people say that they don’t hate anything, but of course, that would be a lie. We all have hate; it is an emotion that we are all born with and we must work to overcome it every day. If left unchecked, this emotion turns into behaviour: Prejudice, Violence, etc. And in fact, all behaviours can be modified, as they are learned, not innate. Continue reading

Evidence

All around the world, we often hear stories of court cases, where justice hasn’t been done. In most nations there is procedure to appeal against miscarriage of justice. Most of the time injustice is carried out because of evidence which is available during the trial. In some cases the witnesses give false evidence against the accused, which ultimately leading to wrongful conviction.

When we examine The Trial of Jesus Christ we discover that he too was falsely accused of many things. “And they that had taken Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together. Matthew 26:57 and the next morning, “They took Jesus to the high priest, and all the chief priests, the elders and the teachers of the law came together.” Mark 14:53  after another consultation by the priests, “Very early in the morning, the chief priests, with the elders, the teachers of the law and the whole Sanhedrin, made their plans. So they bound Jesus, led him away and handed him over to Pilate. Mark 15:1 Continue reading

Jealousy and Envy

“Jealousy comes from self-love rather than from true love.” Iris Murdoch

We are often jealous of others for many unfounded reasons. The reason for being, extremely Jealous is because we are envious of what others have, which can lead us into all kinds of problems, some have even killed others in order to take what they have.

King Solomon puts it like this, “Peace of mind makes the body healthy, but jealousy is like a cancer”  Proverbs 14:30”  Yes wrong kind of jealousy can be un-healthy for us. Solomon also said, “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.” Proverbs 14:30.  The effects of jealousy is that we end up  destroying our body. Lord Jesus said that Jealousy starts in the heart, “For from within, out of men’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man ‘unclean.” Mark 7:21-23

“To cure jealousy is to see it for what it is, a dissatisfaction with self.”  Joan Didion

There is a positive side to jealousy, which is when we wish to serve God with all your heart, that’s when we  jealousy want to follow him with every part of our being.
