Health and Wealth

I agree with Mahatma Gandhi’s statement, “It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.”  If you have health you can always try and make wealth, but without it, it’s very difficult, although it is not impossible. When we are young we tend not to worry about eating or living healthy. As we grow older the misspent youth can catches up with us and we begin to feel the effects of it. Hence look after your health whilst you’re young and you will appreciate it when you’re older. Continue reading

Pain and Suffering

There is not a single person that has not had to suffered pain or knows of someone in the family who suffered pain. Some of us go through more pain and suffering than others, but all of us go through some extent of suffering. Many of us have witnessed someone or have cried out ourselves, “Why me, God!” It’s because we can’t see any reason or benefit for suffering. Many people have lost their faith because of human pain and suffering. 

Our life holds many difficult times of pain and suffering, but this life is a preparation for the life to come. Even if our present life is destroyed, if we are faithful to God we can say like Paul, “For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens” 2 Corinthians 5:1 Continue reading

Jesus Was Rejected

Today we are talking about the Rejected and suffering Jesus,   It wasn’t easy for Jesus to complete his task as the Suffering Servant. He bore the guilt of all the sins ever committed — the horrible murders, the unfaithfulness, child abuse, brutal rapes and much much more and the excruciating physical pain of the crucifixion besides. Jesus didn’t feel anger towards us but love, even in his death he was thinking about the thief on the cross next to him. And his dying words were father forgive them.

We can all respond to what Jesus did on the cross, one of two ways. We can choose to ignore Jesus, by saying it as nothing to do with us, its just history, or we can respond in faith, to put our trust in Jesus and to walk in his footsteps. Continue reading
